We’re currently selling and donating 95% of our things and relocating. It’s crazy, yet truly a blessing. I’ve never had to declutter my possessions to this degree in my life, but I’ve had so many revelations in the process. Now decluttering to this degree as a family takes things to a whole new level.
We decided at the last minute that getting rid of our things would be more cost effective than trying to move them. I honestly believe that many extreme minimalists fall into this lifestyle based on circumstances. For us it’s beginning again due to a big move.
What has surprised me more than anything else is when we decided to donate and sell practically everything, our possessions no longer had the same value to us.
This new experience as a family means so much more than anything we own. Our goal of letting go has taken more precedence than thinking about how much we spent on this or that, or even if we recently bought something. I don’t even want to replace half of what we’re letting go of either. I’m sure that’s not that surprising to you since I write a minimalist blog.
When sharing with a friend about the move, she mentioned we didn’t have too much to begin with so it shouldn’t be too stressful. Although we have always kept things to a minimum, we’ve never been extreme minimalists. Unfortunately we’re not exempt from the stress of moving.
Our possessions can sometimes be assets to our life, but in many circumstances they just weigh you down.
There’s so much time caring for items we don’t even use. This is not the case with things we actually use day to day, but most of what many own are not items used daily, weekly, or even monthly. Even as a minimalist, I’ve had to check myself. I have a lot to do in a very short amount of time, yet I’m so grateful for this much needed change. I’ll be sharing more about this experience as well as where we are headed after we get there.
During this transition I’ll be putting my Etsy shop i am AZUHA on a summer vacation for a few weeks beginning Wednesday June 19th.
If you need to restock or just want to try the AZUHA Red Raspberry Skin Elixir, please do so before our summer “vacation”. I apologize for such short notice, but as you may imagine it’s been a bit crazy. Also I truly appreciate all of you who have been supporting this new skin care line and sharing such positive feedback.
I find it so interesting that we hold on tight to our possessions until life shakes things up a bit. I guess sometimes we really need a good wake up call so that we can focus on what really matters in life… honest loving relationships and family.
This move has definitely got me thinking… How much time do we spend with stuff we don’t even care about?

Great, I enjoy reading your blog is very inspiring. Only thing we should really care is our soul- because is made for eternity, other things are to serve it’s purpose and that’s all.
One anecdote- richest man of all times Alexander the Great had asked in his last will to be buried so that his hands stay outside of his grave- so that people can see he didn’t took anything with him.
I am sad that people nowadays take more care about body and property than abou their souls and about people around them.
I think you are moving in right direction, wishing you all the best for you and your family, God bless you 🤧

Hi Dragana,
So true. We come into this world without any possessions and we leave this world the same way. It is amazing how easy it is to put so much value on our things, and also how incredibly freeing it is to let it all go. I truly appreciate your kind words. May God bless you and your family as well.
