AZUHA Red Raspberry Skin Elixir + FAQ’s

October 12, 2017 by Dawn Michelle

I’ve been raving about using oils high in linoleic acid for healthy radiant skin since 2013.  I shared a list of amazing oils to try here as well as the scientific research behind oils high in linoleic acid.  Using a simple cooking oil high in linoleic acid can balance issues with acne and clogged pores which is great.  Yet I truly desired a product for my skin care line AZUHA that I knew was doing something amazing for my skin and felt indulgent.

AZUHA Red Raspberry Skin Elixir is a very luxurious 100% organic oil blend that is not only extremely healing to the skin, but smells delightful!

It is the synergy of these ingredients which makes this oil based moisturizer so incredible for the skin.  Each of the ingredients in the AZUHA Red Raspberry Skin Elixir was carefully chosen to minimize acne, hyperpigmentation, redness, inflammation, and the signs of aging.  AZUHA Red Raspberry Skin Elixir contains only oils high in linoleic acid.  Using carrier oils high in linoleic acid is scientifically known to unclog pores which promotes a visibly healthier looking complexion.

Let’s take a closer look at all of the ingredients.

RED RASPBERRY SEED OIL is an anti-inflammatory oil best known for it’s natural sun protection (although not a scientifically proven sunscreen) also containing high amounts of vitamin E and carotenoids.

EVENING PRIMROSE OIL heals acne and eczema while reducing inflammation.

ROSEHIP SEED OIL is a powerful anti-aging oil high in vitamin C which hydrates and relieves dry itchy skin while brightening skin.

HELICHRYSUM ESSENTIAL OIL soothes irritated skin while dramatically minimizing blemishes.

NEROLI ESSENTIAL OIL repairs and rejuvenates skin on the cellular level while healing scars and softening wrinkles.

FRANKINCENSE ESSENTIAL OIL reduces pore size, heals scars, and reduces the signs of aging.

FAQ’s

1. How do I use this product?

Gently massage four to seven drops to clean, damp skin as part of your morning and evening skincare regimen.

2. Does the AZUHA Red Raspberry Skin Elixir replace my serum?

The AZUHA Red Raspberry Skin Elixir is applied after cleansing, toning, and treating (serums) the skin.  It is used as a moisturizer.

3. Is this product a sunscreen?

Although Red Raspberry Seed Oil is known for its incredible performance for sun protection, this product is not a sunscreen.

4. Is the AZUHA Red Raspberry Skin Elixir only for acne prone skin?

Although using oils high in linoleic acid helps those who are acne prone, this product is for ALL skin types and helps with inflammation, acne, scarring/hyperpigmentation, and anti-aging.

5. Can I use this product as an oil cleanser?

AZUHA Red Raspberry Skin Elixir is a lightweight moisturizing oil not intended for oil cleansing.  These ingredients are intended to fully absorb into the skin for optimum healing benefits.

Red raspberry seed oil is one of my favorite carrier oils to date.  I’ve been secretly loving it for a few years now.  Because of this I was sure to use it in my skin care line AZUHA. Using the AZUHA Red Raspberry Skin Elixir daily heals, protects, and hydrates skin.  Soften fine lines, smooth skin texture, and create a natural healthy glow with continued use.

    Hi Dawn!
I’ve been making my own organic serums for decades – and have commented on your site before how appreciative I am of finding you and your high linoleic oil article. Finding the right oils has made a huge difference in my skin.
And then you offered your serum for sale and I bought it immediately, thinking well, it probably won’t be that different from what I make……I’ve been using it a week now and my skin absolutely loves it! Even though I also use the same organic EOs, I’ve never used the Raspberry oil. Your serum is the bomb.
My only problem now is what to do with my beautiful little bottles of the serums I made – because I’m pretty sure I’ll be buying yours again soon since my face is actually drinking yours.
    Thank you!

      Hi Jill,
Thank you so much for supporting my skin care line, and I’m thrilled that your skin is loving the Red Raspberry Skin Elixir! It also great to hear that the article on oils high in linoleic acid was a game changer for you too. My skin made a complete turnaround when I learned about oils high in linoleic acid. I had no idea at the time how just sharing this would affect so many others. I hope you are having a great day and I appreciate your feedback!

Where do you purchase your Red Raspberry Seed Oil from? I didn’t see it on Mountain Rose Herbs.

Would this elixir work for cystic prone skin?

      Hi Tiffany,
Yes, this skin elixir is for ALL skin types. I also feel it is very important to heal the skin by balancing things internally as well though. There is no one product on the market that will completely heal your skin if there is a major digestive or hormonal imbalance in the body. My skin improved tremendously when I approached healing from all angles including amazing skin care. I hope this helps!

    Hi Dawn
I purchased your Azuha Red Elixir and I think I know the answer to this 🙂 but wanted to make sure. Will the oil be good to use on Rosacea sensitive skin? My skin is very sensitive and dry. Thank you Lori

    Blessings Dawn!

It’s payday and I’m excited to finally be making my first purchase of AZUHA Red Raspberry Skin Elixir. I appreciate the research you’ve done and transparency you’ve had with your journey. Adult acne is not fun and super sensitive skin does not help. It’s refreshing to have a skin guru like you on the web. Haha!

I’m curious to know what your current face/skin/hair regimen is (outside of eating healthy, reducing stress, etc.), as I’ve followed your blog for a while now and have seen you post about different products and techniques. I’d like to optimize my daily routine to get the best out of the AZUHA elixir.

    With love and thanks!

      Hi Lee,

I haven’t had a consistent beauty routine for myself all of 2017 outside of using AZUHA products while formulating the next. My only consistency had been caring for my baby. I had to take the back burner to some degree so have had a seriously simple sometimes nonexistent regimen to be completely honest.

Now that I have removed my locs and am back to working with loose curly hair, I have been solidifying a new hair care routine which I will share in the new year. I appreciate your support with AZUHA and best wishes!

I had the worst breakout/skin issues this past summer from a new (popular) oil cleanser. Thank God I stumbled across your site and learned about oils! I quit using the cleanser and almost instantly my skin started calming down and clearing up. I moved on to another oil cleanser and oil serum for moisture. My diet is clean, my stress level is moderate, but i can NOT get the scarring and a few pesky pimples to go away. It has been 7 months. I’m thinking that even though the new products I have are good there are tiny amounts of non high linoleic oils in them. Maybe I need to quit it all and go to one oil like you do. I just spent so much money on stuff. GAH!

      Hi Rachel,
I’ve had many customers share that the Red Raspberry Skin Elixir helped them with acne and scarring. I keep my skin care very simple. I don’t use any traditional face washes, I never use soap on my face, and stopped with all the other skin care products. Less really is more.

Hi Dawn! Your serum sounds lovely but i was just wondering what type of rosehip oil is in it-Rosa Canina or Rosa Rubiginosa? From what i have heard these types of Rosehip oil can differ in fatty acids and nutrients. Thank you!

      Hi Jools,
Thank you. The certified organic rosehip seed oil in the Red Raspberry Skin Elixir is from both rosa canina and rosa rubignosa.

Fenugreek seeds, also called methi seeds, have a m Fenugreek seeds, also called methi seeds, have a multitude of medicinal properties along with being a prominent spice in many cultural dishes. For starters, fenugreek seeds are packed with protein for strengthening strands, mucilage for moisturizing and soothing the scalp while detangling the hair, and most importantly nicotinic acid which may minimize hair shedding while soothing scalp issues. Fenugreek seeds are also anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal which is beneficial for soothing a dry irritated scalp as well as high in iron. 🍂

These little seeds are a win win for natural hair care and can be used in various ways. I’ve used fenugreek seeds in my beauty regimen on and off for years. God is so good! We move on FRIDAY. This picture God is so good! We move on FRIDAY. This picture was taken before they removed the bricking which was VERY NOISY to say the least. We haven’t been completely able to avoid the beginning of the construction process, but I honestly think it’s a good thing. This way we can remain GRATEFUL throughout the entire process. GRATITUDE during LIFE’S IMPERFECTION develops CONTENTMENT. That is one thing I work on daily. If you missed our “We’re Moving Again” testimony it’s on the blog. 🌿🍁🍃

Friday mornings are my busiest mornings of the wee Friday mornings are my busiest mornings of the week. I make muffins for Saturday’s breakfast (either corn bread, pumpkin, or banana bread muffins) to have with fruit, a big crockpot dinner for the weekend (beans & rice bowls, lentils and sweet potato stews, or a big veggie and red potato stew) to serve with bread, tortillas, grains, and/or salad depending on the dish, and I’m usually putting orders together to go out for @iamazuha today too. All the while I’m also making other food for the day. 🍂🥧🍁

Friday’s are crazy because of the usual responsibilities, but mainly because I really want to relax a bit over the weekend. Over this past year I’ve worked really hard to create systems to make working from home and being a homemaker easier. Homemaking really is like running a small boutique bed and breakfast hotel. It takes planning ahead, having a solid system, financial planning, commitment, and a lot of love. I’ve been learning to really enjoy this process. Just like everybody else I’ve been baking more this year than ever. Very rewarding. 🍂🥧🍁

Wishing all of you a beautiful and blessed weekend!

We could all use an IMMUNE BOOST right now. Here’s a simple juice recipe that I make for just that. I call it SPICY APPLE JUICE and my three (almost four) year old drinks it up no problem! 🍎

I simply juice 2 WHOLE medium/large APPLES (3 small apples pictured) + 3 CLOVES of GARLIC in a slow masticating juicer for one immune boosting serving. Yes I do include the core as it has many health benefits. 🍎

After having my 1st official winter back on the east coast last year, RAW GARLIC was how I made it through without getting sick at all while caring for sick family members. 🍎

Since then I juice garlic in many of my juice recipes or mince up multiple cloves as dinner toppings for chickpea pasta, beans and rice bowls, and stews. What I LOVE most of all is hearing my son say, “More Juice?” Proud Mama!!!! 🍎

I started wearing linen clothing because it’s ex I started wearing linen clothing because it’s extremely practical. Linen is one of the most environmentally friendly fabrics on the market. Linen is also considered the world’s strongest natural fabric. After tiring of purchasing new clothing every season for my heavily worn small capsule wardrobe, it just made sense to look for mid and heavy weight linen garments that could be worn year round and layered that actually lasted.

Linen clothing can last up to 2-3 decades if properly cared for. I’ve made some mistakes along the way, but have finally found a simple method for caring for my linen garments. (Link in profile.)
