The Order You Seek Starts At Home

Getting your home in order is the best thing that you could ever do for your life.  If your world seems chaotic, there is a good chance that your home may also be a disarray.  The order that you seek in your life truly does begin at home.

Our unique style aesthetics can be expressed even more when our home is tidy.  You will also discover what you value most as well as be able to create the life you truly desire when your home is in order.  Our home is a direct reflection of our state of mind.  One of the greatest lessons that I've learned striving for simple conscious living has been through the decluttering process.  Decluttering is an extremely powerful process that can and will change your life forever.

I never thought that putting my home in order would create more abundance in my life, but it has.

Abundant time, money, life experience, and self awareness has proven to be the reward for making the time to go through all of my possessions, not just what was on the surface.  This somewhat tedious process helped me to release my shopping addiction, find new ways to be creative with items I loved, and turned my once cluttered home into a sanctuary.  If you come home from a long day then feel overwhelmed by the current state of your home, it may be time to choose a different way of existing at home.

Home should be your safe haven to relax that you don't need to apologize for to others who might come over.

Whenever a reader asks me how to begin the decluttering process, I always mention The KonMari Method.  I tell them what took me six years to figure out, they can accomplish in six months or less if they commit to and follow The KonMari Method.  This method is the most powerful and efficient decluttering technique I have come across to date.

When you look at photos of our home for inspiration, or just out of curiosity, please know that it didn't just happen overnight.  I took the time to look at everything that I owned, including furniture, and all the miscellaneous knick knacks which were taking over our precious space.  I decided to keep only the things that were used often and loved.  This is absolutely necessary to create order in your home.

I emptied out and donated furniture which stored items, but were not pleasing to the eye.  I decluttered the contents and created more space.  I let go of clothing I couldn't stand, were tattered, or made me feel insecure when I wore them.  I took down artwork which I really didn't like anymore, and left the wall blank until I found a better replacement.  In some cases I left the wall completely bare.  I donated gifts that I received which no longer served me without guilt.

If you truly desire order in your life, declutter your home, and take your personal power back.

I’m grateful that my husband was on board with this process.  By my husband being open, we have the home we do now, yet I was the one who did the work.  Later on he took on some of his own personal possessions, and I am also grateful that he helps to maintain this order.  I shared some major tips on what to do if your spouse or children are resistant to decluttering which I hope is helpful to you.

You deserve to feel good when you come home from a long day.  You deserve to relax in your home too.  Decluttering doesn't cost anything either.  I used to shop home decor excessively as well, and change it with the seasons.  Now our home decor is focused around remaining tidy and having the needed space to rejuvenate.

You are worthy of having order in your life, and a home that you are proud of.  It all begins with decluttering the chaos!
