Every year I create a new vision board. Each year I am in awe of the small and large dreams that were clear intention the year prior that have manifested. I also notice that some of my desires changed over the course of the year which is why I do a yearly update.
Designing your own vision board is a fantastic way to create focus for the new year, establish clear intention on short term and long term goals, and just have fun picking out some things that you would love to have in your life.
My vision board consists of tons of photos representing different things I desire for my life. If I haven’t found the right picture for my intention I will either write it down or even cut out the words from a magazine until I do. I’ve chosen to use a cork board with thumb tacks for my vision board so that I am able to redo it each year without purchasing or storing new supplies. I also like that if I want to add something or change something mid year I can effortlessly.
To begin the process of designing my vision board, I write down everything that I can think of that I truly desire in my life.
Starting a minimalist lifestyle journey has really helped me become clear on what is important to me. Having fewer amazing quality items versus a lot of things in quantity to organize and maintain is my ideal. Travel and spending quality time with family and friends is also very important to me. No matter what your personal or professional goals are, choosing images to arrange in one place is a great way to see what all of your dreams look like. It is also so much fun. It’s like shopping in the universe.
Manifesting is a unique universal principle which I’ve experienced on numerous occasions. There are four main qualities that I do my very best to keep present everyday to continue the flow of beautiful manifestations in my life… visualization, gratitude, simplicity, and joy. I also practice tithing. Creating a vision board has been one major aspect of manifesting in my life.
I personally like to keep my board in a place where I can see it daily if I desire, yet not exactly on display. I believe that keeping your dreams private also keeps them safe from naysayers. (This is why my finished board is not pictured.) Nothing is impossible yet in the midst of manifesting, we must stay strong with what is in our hearts.
Do you create a vision board each year?

I love this post! I usually also begin by listing out the things that I want and then finding pictures and words in magazines and online to match those. Happy New Year! May this year be all that you envision and more.

One question: how do you maintain “fresh eyes” for your vision board? I know that for me, seeing the same thing in the same place day after day can allow me to start ignoring it or taking it as a given overtime, which is the last thing I want to do with my precious goals and visions. Do you have a process for reviewing your vision board and/or keeping your vision in the forefront of your mind (mine sits right above my desk)? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.

Hi ScentualSountracks,
I keep my vision board in a place which I enjoy greatly. I actually keep mine in my closet which I love. I really enjoy getting dressed in the morning since having created a capsule wardrobe. Put your board in a place in your home which represents freedom and free spirited energy versus a work zone. If you like to display inspiration in your work zone, use beautiful photography, artwork, and inspirational quotes and affirmations. What do you think about this idea?

That is a great idea! I will move mine to my vanity area, which holds all of my favorite natural perfumes and the beauty products that I love using everyday. I visit this space at least twice a day, so it will be a great way to review my vision multiple times a day. Thanks for the suggestion! <3
