During the summer months I can’t stand the idea of my face melting off, and allowing my skin to breath is even more important to me. Every summer I tan extremely easily which really helps with not desiring to wear a lot of makeup. Still I like to add a few extra touches with some makeup.
This is my version of the no-makeup makeup look for summer.
After cleansing my skin with a gentle face wash, I skip the toner and mix a tiny tiny bit of organic turmeric with my facial oil. Turmeric gently diffuses any small imperfections in my skin while adding an extra natural glow for a simple DIY “tinted” moisturizer. Turmeric is also wonderful for healing acne while brightening and fading scars as well as age spots. You can also see how I use turmeric in a facial mask here. Now that I’ve gotten a little bit of sun the turmeric looks even better with my complexion!
(If you have a fair complexion look for Kasturi turmeric which will not stain your skin.)
If turmeric does not work for you as a DIY “tinted” moisturizer, another BIG favorite of mine is the Vapour Organic Beauty Stratus Instant Skin Perfector.
The Stratus Instant Skin Perfector is a organic BB cream with light reflecting minerals to create a flawless complexion. It is a great primer, moisturizer, and colorless makeup in one. You can read more about this product here.
Next I use my DIY Foundation/Concealer to go over any blemishes and also brighten under my eyes. If I desire an even more minimal makeup look I may stop with my next step which is grooming my eyebrows and of course curling my lashes with an eyelash curler. Using a brow brush I groom my eyebrows into place, then lightly fill them in with Gabriel Cosmetics Eyeliner in “Chocolate Brown.”
For a super natural yet defined brow look, I only line the bottom of my brows and fill in any seriously sparse areas. Using an eyebrow brush I again brush through my brows to blend out the color seamlessly.
To add a bit of color to my skin I revisited the Aubrey Organics Silken Earth Powder Blush in “Bronzed Earth.” I’ve used this blush awhile back when Aubrey Organics first launched their makeup line. With this blush a little goes a long way, and I love the shimmery flecks of gold in this warm sienna red blush. I only put a tiny bit of the loose powdered blush to the makeup lid and apply to the apples of my cheeks. Whatever is left on my blush brush I then sweep over my eyelids. Next I curl my lashes to open the eyes, but still avoid an obvious made up look by skipping mascara.
Finally I use the Henna King Envy Lip Stain in “Mango Madness” (a deep wine) for a long lasting lip color layered with Hemp Organics Lipstick in “Cinnamon” (a caramel nude color) to neutralize the rich color for a very natural berry lip tone. There you have it, my no-makeup makeup look!
