For over two years I have been thinking about what I would treat myself to once I completely paid off my debt. (Read about my debt payment here.) I thought I’d finally get a Betsy Johnson dress, but instead decided to create the mini dance studio I had envisioned since moving into this apartment four years ago.
I found a portable ballet barre online by Vita Vibe that I can use to practice right at home daily and also use for private lessons. It also conveniently packs away and out of sight. I’m still in the process of finding a glassless portable mirror that doesn’t cost a fortune. In the meantime I have a beautiful reminder of what I need to be focused on right in front of me, and a place where I can work towards my goals easily right at home.
It is a 4 ft long barre that can be adjusted in height and even comes with a carry bag once taken apart. I was surprised how easy it is to put together. It is lighter than I thought it would be which means that it can be shifted around a bit during use, but it is still much more than I could have ever imagined to have in my home.
My goal is to continue to take a minimum of 4 classes a week and to do my own barre daily at home with ankle weights which takes it to a whole new level. Talk about a serious work out! I don’t stay in shape by being vegetarian alone, and dance requires a completely different level of conditioning so I must put the work in.
How will you reward yourself when you pay off your debt?
