One of the reasons I began this blog was to share all the knowledge that I do have from having worked in the beauty industry and my love for eco-friendly beauty products. In my article “Green” Up Your Beauty Routine, I list a bunch of product ingredients that should be avoided for your own health.
Many of us are programmed to buy the latest cream, shampoo, or makeup item that was praised and featured in the most recent fashion magazine. I remember clients coming into my work place asking for the newest ___ that was in the latest addition of ___ and that product having been out for years. Sometimes the item was new, yet having it featured in the magazine made an older product new again and a new product more exciting.
Although there are so many choices in beauty products, we really do need to become more aware of what is in them so we can choose wisely, or even begin making them ourselves. I was in awe of this video that I came across on Miss Minimalist called The Story of Cosmetics. I found that having a visual depiction of why it is important to have a “green” beauty routine very helpful.
Hope you enjoy!
