I started taking wheatgrass in some form when I became vegetarian. I would get shots of wheatgrass whenever I was some place that did vegetable juicing, or would buy it in powder form and mix it with water or apple juice and drink it throughout the day. I also mix wheatgrass powder in certain morning smoothies that I make.
Wheatgrass is such a powerful supplement because it contain 92 minerals needed by the body including calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc, is a complete protein with over 20 amino acids, contains vitamin A, B, C, and K, and is 70% chlorophyll which is identical to hemoglobin therefore oxygenates the body.
What I love most about wheatgrass is that it naturally detoxifies the body, increases and sustains energy levels, rejuvenates the body on the cellular level, aids digestion, balances the body’s pH, and in return in the perfect beauty food. True lasting beauty begins from the inside out. It is longer lasting than any topical cream or expensive beauty treatment. The condition of our skin, hair, and nails usually allows us to know if we are getting enough nutrients, water, rest etc. because they are the last to receive the goodness of what we put into our body after our organs and bodily systems are feed.
The more that I drink wheatgrass I’ve noticed my skin become clearer, eyes brighter, and just overall feel so much better.
It is also perfect when I’m on the go and could use an extra boost filled with nutrients. I usually try and drink about 22oz of pure water in the morning, then I mix 1 tablespoon of powdered wheatgrass with 16oz of water and drink up an hour before eating breakfast or brunch if I’m not up early. I started taking a teaspoon of wheatgrass a day before increasing my intake. I’ve found that powdered wheatgrass still gave me the wonderful benefits that freshly juiced wheatgrass did. I also think that I enjoy the powdered form because I can tolerate the taste much better than freshly juiced wheatgrass.
I order my organic wheatgrass from Mountain Rose Herbs because ordering in bulk is very cost effective.
