I make many of the gifts that I give for the holiday season, and for other special occasions as well. I adore the process of making these personalized gifts of love. I have also noticed that others respond with a different kind of excitement when they know that the gift was handmade. They also realize that this handmade gift is unmatched to store bought products in terms of quality organic ingredients. Today I wanted to share with you a very easy-to-make four piece DIY Holiday Bath & Body Gift Set which you can create for the loved ones in your life.
Only 3 ingredients… The base of this luscious hair and body butter is organic unrefined shea butter, and I originally used organic coconut oil. Yet I personally would use another carrier oil such as grapeseed, jojoba, or almond oil so that I could also use the same oil for my perfume oil recipe below.
Coconut oil solidifies in cooler temperatures which is fine for the hair and body butter, but not for the fragrance oil. By using the same carrier oil for the body butter and fragrance oil it more cost effective to make. Add your favorite essential oil, whip up this beauty with a stick blender, and gift this luscious butter is in a clean glass jar or tin.
Only 3 ingredients… Since this is for the holidays, it would only make sense to add essential oils to the dead sea salt and vegetable glycerin. I like to use the same essential oil for both my Simple 5 Minute Hair & Body Butter as this DIY Sea Salt Scrub to make it feel more like a set. My favorite essential oil to use is lavender, yet I also LOVE using pure vanilla absolute. A mix of the two is beyond heavenly. Once these ingredients are mixed you can gift this scrub in a clean glass jar or tin. I would add about 7 drops of essential oil to every 1 ounce of vegetable glycerin.
Only 4 ingredients… Use the same carrier oil that you used for the Simple 5 Minute Hair & Body Butter with three other intoxicating essential oils. I love using a roll top glass bottle for this beautiful perfume oil.
Only 4 ingredients… It is so easy to make a body mist with a base of a floral hydrosol and the perfect essential oil combination. A lovely glass or tin spray bottle is the perfect container for this body mist.
The original ingredients for these DIY beauty products…
If you desire to create the most cost efficient gift set in terms of supplies needed, use the same essential oils for each products. In my case I LOVE lavender and vanilla. I would use one or both for the body butter, salt scrub, and perfume oil and create a body mist with lavender hydrosol and both lavender essential oil and vanilla absolute.
Use the same ratios of ingredients with the essential oils of your choice. Otherwise you can create each recipe exactly how they are linked above. If you’d like to create your own essential oil combinations, you may want to check out a Classic Essential Oils Kit which includes cedarwood essential oil, eucalyptus essential oil, geranium essential oil, lavender essential oil, peppermint essential oil, rosemary essential oil, sweet orange essential oil, and tea tree essential oil.
Cost effective gift set ingredients…
I hope this will inspire you to make more of your holiday gifts this year. This is something one can do with others to celebrate the holiday spirit just as you would baking yummy treats, or in my case delicious raw desserts. Sending all of you a big hug this holiday season!
