When I wrote about my experience on Day 5 of this decluttering project, I was already annoyed with the process, and I was just getting started. Now that I’m almost finished with only 11 days to go, I have definitely come a long way. I am beyond ecstatic that I created this challenge for myself, and I am even happier with how everything is coming together.
Today was my second trip of hauling things off to be donated. It is always such a relief to let go of things once I’ve decided that I no longer desire to keep it. As with everytime I’ve pared down on possessions, I enjoy the feeling of lightness in my surroundings. It has become easier to let go of more and more during this project. Some reason I thought it would have become more difficult, yet I’m finding the complete opposite.
Pretty much the items I’ve been releasing have been things that I surprisingly don’t use, or attending to areas in my life where I have been procrastinating.
Sorting through paperwork and reorganizing hasn’t been the most fun, yet I am glad that I took the time to get it done. Some of this process has definitely been more time consuming than others such as going through paperwork and photos. Even though I’ve started sorting and organizing photos, I still have a large bin that needs more attention.
Picking out three items to declutter daily has kept me in a constant state of focusing on only keeping the things that I absolutely love and that is in good condition. I’ve had to be honest when I noticed some of my favorite things falling apart and allowing myself to let them go with ease. I want to live with exactly what I need, use, and love along with those things being in great condition.
This project has also helped me let go of gifts that I’ve kept over the years and never really loved or used.
If you’ve been following me on Facebook or Twitter, you have been seeing what three items I’ve been releasing everyday. It has also inspired me to see what you’ve found that day to declutter as well. With 11 days to go and 33 more things to release, I’m getting more and more excited to reach my goal of living with less.
