Under eye darkness can sometimes be easier to hide with makeup than puffiness which can be a bit trickier to conceal. I’ve had under eye bags since middle school. This area of the face based on the Chinese Face Chart correlates to the kidneys. When I am eating and sleeping well along with drinking plenty of water this puffiness is hardly present, yet there are times when that doesn’t always happen.
A few days ago I came across a video on YouTube which shared this incredible makeup trick to conceal under eye puffiness with very little product. Instead of putting concealer completely under the eye which actually highlights the entire area in an unnatural way, you literally only put concealer on the dark line directly under the bag and blend.
This simple makeup trick provides the most natural results.
When I was using concealer under my entire eye area I would use 100% Pure Brightening Concealer in “Toffee” which is much lighter in color than my complexion, yet has a very light consistency which illuminates the area without a heavy and noticeable appearance. When using this amazing makeup trick that I recently learned, I mix my DIY Cream Foundation with the 100% Pure Brightening Concealer to create a shade which is only a bit lighter than my natural complexion. I use a flat top eyeliner brush for precise application of the concealer to just the dark line below the eye bag and gently blend.
I no longer apply foundation to my entire face and instead use Vapour Organic Beauty Stratus Instant Skin Perfector in “903” as my no color foundation base/BB cream. This organic BB cream is the perfect base for small spot concealing and for keeping this under eye concealer in place. You can always set your concealer with powder if you like, yet recently I’ve been skipping that step.
If you try this makeup trick please share your thoughts. It has definitely changed my life at least in terms of makeup application. You can see the makeup video tutorial by Goss Makeup Artist here.
