Victory dance!!!! Decluttering is such a blessing, yet Round 2 of The 33 Days Declutter Project–Round 2 was pushing me over the edge! By Day 11 I was honestly over this challenge, yet I stuck with it and stayed positive to be encouraging to those who had joined me on this. This challenge forced me to go deeper into the things that I’ve been keeping for no other reason other than not taking the time to decide what to do with it. For those who don’t know The 33 Days Declutter Project is about releasing four items the first day, and three items everyday after for 33 days to declutter a total of 100 things. You can read more about the original challenge here.
Even after posting my last three items today on social media, I found old pointe shoes and finger cymbals that I can let go of too. My minimalist lifestyle journey continues as there is still a few things that need my attention. I definitely recommend sorting through your things and releasing the items that you don’t use, love, or add beauty to your home. The amount of space, peace, and abundance that comes in return for decluttering is priceless!

After doing another round of this challenge I am very clear that no matter how pristine your home may seem your closets usually tell the truth. My main focus during this challenge was on clearing out the unused items in the closets. It wasn’t my wardrobe closet which you can see here, but the other two closets in my apartment which obviously needed the attention.
One of the things that made this project extra challenging for me was that I had just gotten rid of a ton of things before we moved this past July which made moving so much easier. Moving forces you to downsize and look through your possessions. Even after the move I knew there was more to look through although I was hesitant to take it on and share it. I’m really glad that I did though because The 33 Days Declutter Project allows me to find a few things every day versus an all day sit down with piles of things in front of you to go through which can be extra exhausting.
I appreciate all of you who joined me on this challenge and posted your items on the Minimalist Beauty Facebook Page, Twitter, and Instagram with #33daysdeclutter! You are awesome and it kept me inspired even on days I didn’t feel like it. Now looking back at what I accomplished this round it was well worth it. You can see the 100 Things I Decluttered the first time too if you like. I’m just so happy to be starting the new season with less stuff.
Happy decluttering, and enjoy your weekend!

My sincere thanks for the inspiration and for sticking it out past day eleven!

Hi Ki,
I truly appreciate you joining me on this decluttering project. I am also glad that you were able to get a major chunk of decluttering accomplished. Thanks for posting so often on Facebook too!

Thank you! I hit my more modest goal of 33 things, and while I was a little bummed I wasn’t shooting for 100, it really made a lot more sense with my heavy schedule.
You’ve inspired me to schedule my own 33 Day Declutter for a less busy stretch! Or maybe just 100 items… or maybe that capsule wardrobe overhaul I’m dreaming of… you’ve already gotten me scouting out consignment stores!
Thanks again!

Hi Katherine,
It’s great that you joined us for this challenge! Every time you declutter from this point on you will gain new insights and it will become easier at times too. Having a capsule wardrobe is amazing so definitely give it a try when you are ready.
Best wishes!

I’m so excited to have found this blog while doing a search for capsule wardrobe ideas! I’m a fellow curly with an interest in natural hair and beauty who has also been on a mission to declutter and simplify my home and my life for the past year. I’ve made a lot of progress but still have so much more to go and I’m looking forward to reading about your journey.
