• Sustainable Designers I ♥

I ♥ fashion! I always have. I was laughing this morning remembering the fuchsia suede oxfords I wore with over the knee socks and winter shorts in high school, as well as the black felt newsboy hat I wore all through middle school. I’m not sure how I was allowed to wear hats in school, yet they were my favorite accessories.

My love for fashion hasn’t died because I’ve chosen to live a minimalist lifestyle.  Actually I am more particular about what I wear, because I only want to own the best clothing in the fewest items possible for my lifestyle and artistic expression.  I’m no longer buying temporarily cute sale items.  Instead I am looking at the cut of an item, the quality of material, how well the clothing piece is tailored and sewn, and also if it is something that I will adore in the long haul.

Much of my wardrobe are pieces I lucked up on in consignment shops that I knew would add charm to what I already owned.  I love shopping organic and sustainable fashion as well.  Here are two designers I admire.  A few of the designs I’m about to share are on my wish list.  My minimalist rule still applies that as something new comes in something must go out.

    Eviana Hartman

Bodkin is a line that is effortlessly chic.  I love an outfit that just looks easy.  I don’t ever think comfort only when I get dressed, unless I just plan to stay at home.  I would rather have a stylish wardrobe that is comfortably sexy in one.

Here is a video of Bodkin designer Eviana Hartman and her message behind her line that was first created in 2008.

    Gretchen Jones

I was in favor of Gretchen Jones from the beginning of Project Runway this season when she created the one piece jumpsuit that won the second episode.  I was especially excited that she is a sustainable designer.  I am even more excited to see what she designs in the future now that she won this season’s Project Runway.  Keep an eye on her collection Moth Love.

Here is a video of her winning design that stole my heart!

Here is Gretchen’s  final collection that she won Project Runway with.

    Enjoy!
