Skin Care

One of the greatest things that I learned while working in the cosmetic retail industry was the world of skin care.  I was most interested in the organic skin care lines, yet learned about them all.  I also watched women come in week after week trying out new products, having samples made, and being “informed” about why a product cost $70-$100.  Eye creams, serums, face lifts in a bottle, and miracle creams.  Young models graced the boxes of anti-aging products, and we all believed in the hype.

Don’t get me wrong, there are some absolutely ground breaking organic cosmetic companies such as DeVita, Suki, 100% Pure, and many others that I’ve never tried.  Not one of these companies payed me to review their products, I’ve fallen in love with them on my own.  Suki will always be one of my favorite lines.

What is so crazy is how many toxic chemicals are in even the “natural and organic” skin care lines.  I was completely turned upside down again this last time updating the Cosmetic Chemicals to Avoid list!  When I decided to pay off my debt, I simplified my skin care regimen which was costing me more money than I needed to spend at the time.  Even now that my debt is payed off, I still enjoy having a minimalist skin care routine.  To each her own.
