No matter if your skin is dry, oily, combination, or acne prone, if you desire a youthful glow while also diminishing scars, sun damage, and wrinkles this simple oil does it all!  Rosehip seed oil is my favorite hydrating moisturizer/serum/anti-aging/regenerating/scar reducing beauty miracle from nature.  I've raved about tamanu oil for healing scars in the past, yet rosehip seed oil unlike tamanu oil is high in linoleic acid therefore doesn't clog my acne prone skin.  It also has a much more pleasant scent compared to tamanu oil while softening and maintaining moisture in my skin like no other carrier oil that as have tried to date.

Rosehip Seed Oil & Acne Prone Skin

I've read many times that if you are acne prone that you should not use rosehip seed oil.  Yet after omitting all oils high in oleic acid from my skin care, hair care, body care, and face makeup, I discovered that only using oils high in linoleic acid provided consistent results of clear radiant skin for me.  I have only had issues with my skin if I switched things up and tried something different.

Keeping a consistent skin care regimen only using oils high in linoleic acid provides consistent results.  I have been using only oils high in linoleic acid for a year now.  You can find the scientific research and read the article on high linoleic oils here.

A Healthy Lifestyle = Healthy Glowing Skin

Now please don't think that using rosehip seed oil alone will improve all of your skin issues overnight.  It usually takes a month of using a new skin care product or regimen consistently to see vast changes.  Yet I wouldn't be surprised if you at least notice a difference using rosehips seed oil compared to other carrier oils very quickly.

Our skin is the largest organ in the human body.  When you have skin issues, it can be caused by hormonal imbalances, environmental pollution, and/or irritations from chemical laden skin care.  Yet it also has EVERYTHING to do with your lifestyle, what you eat, stress levels, water intake, exercise, etc.

Rosehip Seed Oil's Composition & Characteristics

Rosehip seed oil is considered a dry oil because it contains very high amounts of fatty acids which absorb into the skin very quickly compared to other carrier oils.  It also contains a natural form of provitamin A (mainly beta-carotene) an incredible skin regenerating component which increases the skin cell turnover.  This natural form of vitamin A is so much better than any synthetic contender.  The high amounts of linoleic acid (omega 3/44.1%) and linolenic acid (omega 6/33.9%) brings balance to all skin types and helps unclog pores.  Rosehip seed oil helps heal eczema, dermatitis, rosacea, sun damage, and acne, while minimizing wrinkles and scars.

How I Use Rosehip Seed Oil

I use rosehip seed oil as a daily moisturizer.  I only wash my face with water in the mornings, then apply a few drops of rosehip seed oil to damp skin following.  In the evenings I use another high linoleic oil to cleanse my skin, and use a warm to hot wet microfiber cloth to remove the cleansing oil.  I then apply a generous amount of rosehip seed oil to my face and neck.  Ever since I added this oil into my skin care regimen, I’ve noticed an increase in my skin's moisture levels as well as an overall soft and smooth appearance to my skin.  I have been enjoying a foundation-free and concealer-free summer because if it as well.

It’s true that not everything works for everybody, but this oil is so incredible.  It’s definitely worth a try.  You can find rosehip seed oil among many other skin nourishing oils in the Red Raspberry Skin Elixir.
