Opening My Heart

I never expected to be away from Minimalist Beauty for so long. I've been enjoying the areas of life which have made me grow and stretch. I've been experiencing the pruning process in so many areas. The process is only beautiful when willing to open your hand and your heart and let go. Life changes you.

I've been prioritizing home life, carrying for my family, and taking care of my home.

I never understood the challenges of a stay-at-home mother until now. Working from home has also been a huge task. I allowed Minimalist Beauty to be put on hold for awhile as I worked consistently on my organic skin care line. What a blessing it has been in so many ways.

As I mentioned in my last article, I've been slowly assembling a fully linen year round capsule wardrobe. Living in Southern California has made this possible, as layering linen kept me very warm during our mild winter. I'm not sure how this would be if I lived back east where I grew up. This capsule wardrobe is no where near complete. I've literally been living in the same few pieces weekly.

I actually treated myself to some beautiful linen dresses that I purchased from Etsy sellers.

These linen dresses are ethically handmade for each customer. It is slow fashion at its finest. The three designers I've purchased from reside in Europe, so shipping takes time and patience. It's been well worth the wait. The dress in the photo above is from Knock Knock Linen.

My personal style has also changed. I love fluid feminine pieces more than ever. I wear the same pieces everywhere. Nothing is too fancy or restricting.

Lastly I've been downsizing again.

I found a local woman's shelter to give kitchen items, clothing, and children's items to. In order to maintain a minimalist lifestyle, it's critical to consistently re-evaluate what you have. It may surprise you how much someone else could use something that is literally just collecting dust in your home.

I've been opening my heart to life, yet guarding my heart from people.

I've been finding balance with caring for others while taking care of myself. I've been working hard, and finding ways to get more rest. I've been finding pleasure in new ways of being creative for my current season. Life is good, and I'm trying to find ways to be more of a blessing to others. That's me in a nutshell.

How have you been?
