I downsized this area of my capsule wardrobe a lot since last year. Instead of keeping items just in case, I accumulated only practical pieces that make sense for my everyday life. I love classic pieces that don’t scream which season items were purchased. There are actually only two new pieces that were purchased this year… the Naturalizer ‘Tipley’ booties and the ASOS black bowler hat. Everything else I’ve had for a few seasons.
I do feel that I need a pair of dressy heeled booties or pumps to replace the Vintage black strappy heels, but I’ll be pairing them with tights in the meantime. Los Angeles winters aren’t too intense. Plus finding narrow shoes isn’t as much fun as I would like it to be, so I’m not going to stress myself out.
I am still surprised that I have found peace living with less. I have thought about keeping my eyes open for a burgundy bag and of course dressy heeled booties/pumps that I mentioned earlier, but I have learned to love having a small capsule wardrobe, and there are still a few things that I haven’t even worn yet. If you haven’t seen my Fall/Winter 2014 capsule wardrobe which consists of 15 core pieces, you can see it here. My style is classic with a very tiny bit of bohemian. You can also see how I style some of these pieces from my capsule wardrobe in my lookbook.
I never would have believed you if you told me that I’d LOVE having a small wardrobe five years ago!
Psst… Don’t forget about the Mountain Rose Herbs Henna Giveaway! It ends Nov 24th!
