With 2013 literally right around the corner, I can’t help but think about the journey that I’ve experienced in 2012. If anyone asked me how I felt about this year one word would describe it all… “transition”. Transition and growth can be the most uncomfortable experience and to feel it for an entire year is undeniably not fun, yet I know it’s for the best!
2013 feels like the perfect time to finally spread those wings and soar!
Minimalist Beauty has grown so much this year! The website received a complete makeover and I learned more about web development than I thought possible. The articles continued with new focuses on becoming even more environmentally responsible with cosmetic ingredients, becoming plastic-free, buying ethically made clothing plus thrifting and upcycling, looking into buying only organic foods to avoid GMO’s, and enjoying simple beauty treats like the DIY Beet Cheek Stain or simply a slice of beet for makeup. I’ve played with new herbs for hair such as yucca root, and fell in love with using raw honey as a face wash and using jojoba oil with essential oils as an oil cleanser and facial serum. I jumped on board with the Curly Girl Method while also continually decluttering my home while preparing to move in the new year.
My new love with turmeric powder only adds to the simple organic beauty with style ingredients lists of favorites.
One reality that I’ve learned this year is that every decision that I make whether it’s driving more compassionately in a traffic filled city, a genuine smile to a stranger, or what organic herbs I use and how I formulate my next beauty product, we are all connected. The beauty of knowing that we all have guardian angels to guide and protect us brings comfort as well. Our choices can bring great joy to others and the planet.
Everything that we do whether we know it or not does effect our future, the planet, and everyone around us. There is no separation.
Let’s take time to look back over 2012 and take note of the many lessons. Let’s release the past with joy and take those lessons with us as we enjoy family and friends over the holidays. Let’s take the time to make goals for 2013 that will continually be a blessing to our lives, the planet, and everyone on the earth. I am so grateful for Minimalist Beauty as a platform to share my free spirited eco-friendly lifestyle of beauty, style, minimalist living, and creativity with you. I’ll be back in the new year with more!
Have a Beautiful Holiday and Happy New Year!
