If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you already know that I purchased these J.Brand skinny jeans last week from Crossroads, one of my favorite consignment shops in Los Angeles. I only have three pairs of jeans in my F/W 2014 capsule wardrobe. I wasn’t even wearing the light gray cropped skinny jeans which were originally in my S/S 2014 capsule wardrobe, although I had also made them a part of my F/W wardrobe.
I thought light gray would be a great neutral for diversity, but I wasn’t even interested in them now that the seasons changed. Swapping out the gray cropped jeans for these basic blue skinnys couldn’t have been a better choice. They just make my capsule wardrobe feel more complete. I can’t help but LOVE the side ankle zipper detail too!
My favorite elements of this outfit are definitely the accessories. Without them this look would feel beyond basic. A leopard printed scarf adds so much to otherwise bland neutrals, a hat is always fun, and these peep toe Jeffrey Campbell boots are a bit surprising and actually contradictory to staying warm. They only work since I live in Los Angeles.
I’ve had these Jeffrey Campbell boots a few years now. They were originally a light colored nubuck, yet once they became unacceptably dirty, buffing in a layer of clear shoe polish changed the texture and color to what you see now. I was determined to make it work since I loved them!
