Most of our belief systems have been ingrained into our subconscious mind by the age of 8. If our parents believed that our family genetically had bad health, or that having an abundance of finances made you a selfish manipulative person, most likely we have similar beliefs as well. Also if we were told that we were stupid, untalented, what we had to say was nonsense, or learned that our self worth was based on achievement alone, most likely those beliefs have stuck with us too.
What is challenging to comprehend at times is how powerful the subconscious mind is. We may think that we have conscious control over our every behavior, yet much of how we behave daily is not always a conscious effort. We operate often on autopilot reacting to our environment versus creating what we really desire.
I have noticed that digging up my past to discover where some of my beliefs about myself, my relationships, and my environment have stemmed from has been crucial to manifesting the life that my heart craves.
What we focus on good or bad, we manifest in our lives. Yet without understanding where our negative thought patterns come from, the healing work necessary to free ourselves from limiting beliefs can be even more challenging. Saying positive affirmations daily without doing any healing work around our subconscious issues isn’t as powerful as they could be.
Even nice loving people can behave very cruelly without conscious control because of their own past unhealed issues. These same people may also desire a true loving partner, their dream career which is in alignment with their life purpose, abundant finances, divine health, and to be more happy daily than not. Yet these same individuals may be self sabotaging what they desire without understanding why. I believe the “why” has everything to do with healing the past.
Healing and forgiving the past has been one of my greatest tools for creating not only the life that I desire, but the ability to approve of myself aside from what others think of me.
I am by no means perfect. Although I am a Virgo which is naturally considered a perfectionist, my perfectionist personality had more to do with not feeling good enough, worthy, unconditionally loved without achievement, and the need for approval from others. The more that I heal my past, the greater self worth I’ve uncovered, and the easier it has been to step into my personal power.
Being a powerful woman isn’t necessarily looked upon well by our society.
Powerful is often not viewed as kind and sweet, yet being kind and sweet doesn’t mean being a doormat either. I had to learn how to be an assertive woman, say what I need from others and in situations without fear of rejection or judgement. Others will think what they like regardless based upon their own perceptions about themselves and their environment anyway.
I am still a huge work in progress. Yet I am aware that the more assertive I become, the more it often brings up all kinds of emotional responses from others. Healing and forgiving my past as well as being assertive has helped me manifest my heart driven creative career. This has also helped me with knowing how to relate with others in a healthy way, and being clear on how I allow others to treat me.
The modalities in which I have consciously used to heal my past have been physically detoxing my body, timeline therapy, reiki, eating abundant raw foods while eliminating past food addictions, decluttering, journaling, prayer, meditation, dancing, sea salt/epsom salt baths, connecting with my guardian angels, and simply being in nature. I have chosen to live as much of a conscious healing lifestyle as possible because one of my greatest desires in life since childhood was the desire to feel free.
It is impossible to feel free while also carrying the weight of the world, emotional baggage from trauma, and false negative beliefs that we have learned from others that were never our own to begin with.
Healing the past is one of the greatest ways to consciously manifest our desires. No one truly wants to remain stuck by holding onto fear and negativity. It doesn’t feel good to live like that. Living in fear and negativity is painful emotionally and physically. Let’s be conscious about what we truly desire and keep our mind, heart, and soul on that. Let’s also heal our past so we have the true freedom to do only that!
