Global Girlfriend

I just came back from an out-of-town trip and realized that I could use a few new pieces in my wardrobe.  Packing wasn’t much fun this time, although I worked it out.  I am now able to clearly see what few items could really make a difference in my wardrobe.  Instead of going to the mall which is easy,  I chose to look at Global Girlfriend instead.

Global Girlfriend is a website that sells fair trade and organic clothing, accessories, jewelry, bath and body products, handmade paper, and so much more.  Each item is handmade by women and communities worldwide.  Each purchase supports women to earn sustainable incomes with their traditional artisan skills and beautiful crafts.

I already own an organic cotton dress from Global Girlfriend that I adore, and bought my mother the Organic Super Sash Skirt for her birthday that she absolutely loves.  She could hardly believe how soft the material was.  I used the Butterfly Garden Stationary Set to create the invitations for my wedding that I received so many compliments on.  It just feels good to purchase a wonderful product and support an amazing group of female social entrepreneurs globally.  The artists of Global Girlfriend are from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Nicaragua, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, United States, and Vietnam.
