It was October 2013 when I wrote about my research and personal skin care experiment using only carrier oils high in linoleic acid. Over the past four years there has been so much dialogue in regard to this topic on Minimalist Beauty and online in general. That article published October 2013, Oils Specifically For Acne Prone Skin, went viral and so many of you from around the world shared how my article completely changed your life and your skin!
What I discovered through research, plus four years of trial and error, is that when our skin’s sebum is deficient in high linoleic acid it becomes thick, sticky, and clogs pores.
I’ve also learned that all oils high in linoleic acid are not created equal. Some oils feel dryer on the skin while others are extremely moisturizing. Also, certain oils high in linoleic acid simply didn’t improve the quality of my skin, although they didn’t make me break out.
Over these past four years I omitted all products that contained oils higher in oleic acid from my regimen, and tried various organic carrier oils high in linoleic acid with different essential oil blends. Whenever I deviated from this regimen I always had a setback. I’ve shared some simple recipes with oils high in linoleic acid on Minimalist Beauty. The payoff of using these oils has been incredibly consistent and I’ve seen DRAMATIC improvements over time. All of my trial and error was worth it!
I’ve worked very hard to create an organic skin care line to address healing acne, scars, and hyperpigmentation while also reducing the signs of aging. FINALLY I am ready to share these products with the world!
For those of you asking about my current skin care regimen, having noticed a difference in my skin, I’ve ONLY been using my own cleanser, serum, and moisturizer consistently all year. The results of this specific combination has been profound, and I’m super excited to share them with you very soon.
I’m creating these organic artisan products myself by hand in small batches. To start, I will be releasing each product one at a time. I’ll also be taking a break from writing articles on Minimalist Beauty until after the skin care line is launched in September. I am a passionate and driven woman for sure, yet I’m only one person.
I truly appreciate all of the positive feedback and testimonies on using oils high in linoleic acid in your skin care regimens. I hope that you will also join me on my next venture of sharing my new product line with you. The support will mean so much to me, and I hope that each product created with love will be motivation for your healing journey.
