• Fashion Blogs–My New “Magazine”

In I’m Not Buying Fashion Magazines Anymore I wrote about why I was going to leave the shiny fashion books in the store from now on.  It’s mainly so I won’t have to constantly clear them out every few months, and because I love fashion more than trends.  I believe the two get intertwined in ways that they shouldn’t.

What makes something fashionable is not a trendy thing.  How clothing is beautifully assembled and accessorized, plus the energy in which the clothing is worn is true fashion.  Fashion is quality creative designs that can be worn no matter what is going on in style trends.  Trends tend to be items that seem to be in one day and out the next day rather quickly.  I may have let go of fashion magazines, but not fashion.  Street style has been my most influential inspiration and many magazines are beginning to include street style as part of their content.

If there was just one fashion magazine that I would buy it would be Boho Magazine that focuses on bohemian fashion and style, sustainable living, and the free spirited woman.  In addition it currently comes out only four times a year so it’s not too much to keep up with and easy to enjoy, pass on to a friend, or recycle.  In the meantime there are my favorite fashion blogs.  Fashion bloggers are now influencing the fashion industry and fashion magazines anyway.  So you may as well go to the source.

How did you find the blogs that you follow? I am in definite need of some inspiration, and as much as I love the bohemian look, I look much better in more structured clothes.

Hi Lindsey! I tend to come across unique fashion blogs through Google and also mainly on Bloglovin. You can also search minimalist fashion trends and designers for simple structured looks and inspirations. I tend to like both bohemian and minimalist styles.
