Most of you know how much I LOVE rich lip colors. After going a week makeup-free last year, I decided that the perfect simple daily makeup look for me would be a wash of color on the eyes, lips, and cheeks, with a natural BB cream that I now make myself, and mascara. Last month I purchased the Envy Lip Stain in “Melon Madness.” I’ve always loved the idea of lip stains, yet so many of them are filled with many ingredients that I could care less for. The first natural lip stain that I tried was in 2010. I have learned so much more about cosmetic ingredients since then.
The Envy Lip Stain by Henna King has all natural coloring ingredients. It is also packaged in a lip gloss container for easy application.
Depending on the color of Envy Lip Stain, natural coloring ingredients are used such as henna, hibiscus, gooseberry, barberry root, indigo, and beet root. I also prefer this natural coloring option over cosmetic color, a synthetic chemical color ingredient, which I’ve seen in other lip stains. This product is marketed to be used as a multipurpose makeup for eyes, lips, and cheeks, as well as for nails. I haven’t had the time to try it on my nails, but I have greatly enjoyed using this lip stain as makeup.
Envy Lip Stain Ingredients
(“Melon Madness”–Henna, JoJoba Seed Oil, Rose Petals, Barberry Root, Bees Wax, Hibiscus, Beet juice, Water, and Glycerin)
The Envy Lip Stain can be worn sheer or layered for a deep rich color. For the days that I desire to have a dark lip color that literally lasts forever, I apply this stain over my Zuzu Luxe Lip Liner for different color variations, and for a look that resembles a matte lipstick. This is what I do especially for auditions when I need to be focused on choreography not fading lipstick.
As for blush I have found it easier to use by adding a bit of glycerin and mixing in my hand before applying as it tends to dry quickly before it is blended evenly. Having another blush option is great when I can’t get my hands on a slice of beet. I only have this lip stain in one color currently, yet I am curious about having some other color options for various looks.
