• DIY Tropical Vanilla Body Butter

It’s time for a vacation!  We’ve had a pretty mild winter in Los Angeles, yet I’d love to spend some relaxing days laying on the beach.  Nothing compares to the beaches in Hawaii, but I’ll be extremely grateful for Los Angeles beaches that I can easily get to in less than an hour.

While the weather isn’t exactly beach ready, here is a body butter to naturally prepare you for that summer glow.  It may even take you tropical paradise, well mentally for a moment at least.  I know that we haven’t even started daylights savings yet, but I’m already thinking about bronzers and sun-kissed looking skin.  I absolutely love the smell of vanilla and this DIY Tropical Vanilla Body Butter contains the best of both worlds:  a sweet smell and a sun-kissed glow, not to mention keep your skin super soft.

    What you will need:

    Cocoa Butter–2 tbsp

    Shea Butter–1 tbsp

    Mango Butter–1 tbsp

    Coconut Oil–3 tbsp

    Beeswax–1 tbsp

    Pure Vanilla Absolute–7-10 drops

    Bronze Mica-1/8 tsp

Melt the butters, oil, and beeswax together on low heat while stirring.  (Beeswax pastilles are the easiest form to use.)  After removing from heat add pure vanilla absolute and bronze mica and continue to stir.  Place in a clean glass jar in the refrigerator to solidify and cool.

All of these ingredients can be found at Mountain Rose Herbs and the mica can be purchased at Coastal Scents.  Enjoy!
