Once of my favorite aspects of the fall/winter season is the aromatic smells of baking and natural candles burning, as well as the fresh smell of the cool crisp air. Scents are such an important part of our life experience as they bring back memories, create new ones, and uplift our moods. I wanted to share this awesome fall/winter body mist courtesy of Mountain Rose Herbs called the Sunbeam Aroma Mist.
What you will need…
15 drops organic lemon essential oil
10 drops organic cardamom essential oil
5 drops organic spearmint essential oil
Carefully count each drop of essential oil into the 3 oz of the organic carrier base. Shake well. Store your body mist in a clean spray bottle for easy use. You can use a 4 oz amber glass bottle with a fingertip mister or a 4 oz fine mist aluminum spray bottle for this recipe.
Using a hydrosol will give this aroma spray more dimension since using witch hazel has a more neutral scent. Combining the two bases will increase the shelf life of your aroma spray because witch hazel extract contains 14% alcohol. Use within 6 months if only using a hydrosol as your base. If you enjoy body mists as much as I do, you will be lucky to keep it that long!
This aroma spray is refreshing, uplifting, and invigorating! This DIY body mist would also make a beautiful gift during the holiday season. Although this is a body mist, feel free to use it to give your hair a lovely scent as well.
I love having a body mist with me at all times to keep my mood fresh and light throughout the day. The combination of clean sugary lemon, warm spicy cardamom, and minty spearmint is beyond delightful! Making my own ensures that I am not introducing toxic synthetic fragrances into my system that contain petrochemicals which can be hormone disrupters and cause allergies. Plus who can deny the power of smelling delicious.
