Here’s my first official outfit for my styling lookbook from My Fall/Winter 2014 Capsule Wardrobe. This casual everyday outfit is perfect for staying warm while working from home, running errands, or even meeting up with a friend for lunch. I’ve used three different neutral colors, stripes, the silhouette of the jeans as well as texture from the sweater to create interest. My accessories are strong basics, yet keep the look cozy and casual.
One of my goals when I created this season’s capsule wardrobe was to have great everyday comfortable style. I didn’t want to feel like I was dressing up, yet I still wanted to look well put together. I don’t think that your everyday clothes have to be dressy, or that you must wear heels to look nice.
Heels will elongate your leg line, yet a great pair of high rise straight leg or wide leg pants can do the same thing. Look for pants that cut straight down from the widest point of your thighs. Wearing a higher rise in pants can be a bit tricky, yet you don’t have to always reveal the waistband. In general I’ve found that wearing high rise pants can often form to the body in a very flattering way. It is all about finding the right cut and style for your body type.
More looks to come so stay tuned, plus you can see this season’s capsule wardrobe here!
