This morning I took five big bags to Goodwill. Goodwill and I have become very close this year. We meet up at least once a month as soon as the back of my Rav4 is full and ready for a drop off.
My husband and I have only two closets in our one bedroom apartment, so there really isn’t anywhere to hide anything. The best solution to making our home beautiful has been clearing out our unneeded possessions. I’ve also been very conscious of what comes into our home.
The process of becoming more minimalist and less of a consumer continues. As I have been clearing out, I have become less and less attached to materialism. I’ve also watched our apartment continually expand in space and energy. I’m still deciding my ultimate minimalist goal but until then, there is always the amazing feeling of weight being lifted off my shoulders once one more thing leaves our place. I’m not exactly sure where this journey will take me, but I am up to the challenge and already enjoying the benefits!
Happy Spring Cleaning!

Absolutely agree! If we are constantly clearing our clutter out throughout the seasons, it won’t overwhelm us once a year during spring cleaning (that is, IF people even do that).
I’m continually reviewing what I own to ensure that each item I possess is of value and current use to me. If it’s not, then I donate, recycle, give, or sell it. Done!

It is such a good idea to keep an eye on what is coming in and going out of your home. Sometimes when we are in a rush we put something aside and never see it again until too many things accumulate. This process of clearing out becomes easier the more you do it.
