I enjoy creating my own wrapping paper for gifts versus buying wrapping paper. I used to create wrapping paper with beautiful magazine tears tapped together. It is so much cheaper than buying wrapping paper, and I also could get rid of old magazines in that way. I don’t buy magazines anymore though so I am always open to new ideas. Two years ago I reused paper grocery bags with ribbons to wrap gifts giving them a unique touch with butterfly stamping.
Creative gift wrapping is so much fun!
My mother-in-law recently “wrapped” my birthday gift this past year in a ChicoBag. It was so perfect as well as in my favorite color. I now have another ChicoBag that I can keep in my purse when I do any kind of shopping. I recently saw this video which shows a few fabulous ways to create chic eco wrapping using ChicoBag Reusable Shopping Bags when I was doing research on more plastic free finds.
What is so amazing about using ChicoBags for gift wrapping is that it is a 100% eco-friendly way to present gifts since it is a two in one gift that doesn’t waste paper. Plus you do not need any tape to wrap your gift which makes it plastic free. And yes tape is plastic!
I’m always in awe that more people do not know about these wonderful bags. They come in so many colors and more styles than I even knew about. ChicoBags are extremely easy to keep with you at all times with their compact stuff sack and clip, and hold up with repetitive washes in the machine. You can also use this method of gift wrapping all year long. It is definitely easier than anything I have ever seen too! You can find ChicoBags here.
You can also use fabric or recycle a beautiful scarf to wrap a gift. What creative ways have you gift wrapped?
