I love fashion and beauty, yet am also a minimalist. I'm a professional dancer and model and have been a part of the entertainment industry for years. I've also worked in one of the largest beauty retailers as a consultant. Minimalist Beauty is a lifestyle of simplicity, freedom from clutter and the unnecessary, using organic and natural beauty products free of any chemical or toxic preservatives, and spending more time doing what you absolutely love most. Minimalist Beauty is my journey of thoughts, inspirations, and lessons creating a life of simplicity and therefore more artistic expression. I hope you enjoy!

Catnip–A Beauty and Health Herb
Last month I did a trial using catnip tea for a hair rinse and also as a facial toner. If you are at all familiar with catnip also known as catmint, it is a herb from the mint family that most cats go crazy over. I learned about catnip from Ktani on the Long Hair [...]
100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Mascara
Last month I received a beautiful package of goodies from 100% Pure to try and test out to share with you. I’ve already been a big fan of their products prior to writing this blog. My first love was their Vanilla Bean Body Lotion before it was repackaged as the Vanilla Bean Body Cream. I [...]

Minimalist Beauty Tip #1–Spray and Buff
Now that winter is here, dehydrated skin can be a problem for all skin types. Hydration is so important both by drinking lots of purified water, and making sure that the skin stays hydrated throughout the day. One of my favorite refreshing and hydrating beauty products for my skin are floral waters or hydrosols. Rose, [...]

Soapwort Root–A Natural Cleanser
My most recent Mountain Rose Herbs purchase included a bunch of herbs that I wanted to get acquainted with for medicinal and beauty purposes. One of those herbs was soapwort root. I was very interested in this herb because of its gentle cleansing abilities. Soapwort root has a very high concentration of saponins which gives [...]
Sweet Kissable Lips with Colorganics
My favorite lipsticks are from Colorganics Hemp Organics with 32 lipstick shades. Colorganics also carries lip liners, lip tints, lip balms, and lip glosses. My favorite lipstick shades are Brown Sugar, Red Earth, Sienna, and Cocoa. I’ve played it pretty safe with my color choices and will probably switch it up soon when I run [...]

Long Wearing Natural Nail Color
No matter how much time I take painting my nails, the color always chips within two or three days. It’s pretty frustrating, yet I still like the look of painted nails. I researched gel nails because of their popularity and convenience of extremely long lasting nail color. I also knew that as soon as I discovered [...]

J’adore EcoTools
Two years ago I purchased EcoTools Bamboo 6 Piece Brush Set. At the time I needed a few new makeup brushes. I loved the fact that these brushes were so reasonably priced, 100% cruelty-free, made with super soft taklon bristles, bamboo handles, and recycled aluminum ferrrules. Since they were such a cute set, they became [...]

A More Minimalist Approach to Beauty
Throughout the process of writing Minimalist Beauty all of the many DIY products and ingredients made my bathroom cabinet everything but minimal. This past week I decluttered once again to further streamline so that I am no longer bombarded with too many oils, butters, herbs etc. Although many of the DIY beauty recipes I have [...]

Tarte Smooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder
Every once and awhile I’ll go by Sephora to see if there are any brands creating true chemical free cosmetics. There are a few “green” labels represented in the store, but very few products truly are chemical free. I usually go to the Cosmetic Database to research any unknown cosmetic ingredient, and Tarte Smooth Operator Micronized [...]
