With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I thought sharing a simple and oh so sweet natural fragrance recipe would be right on time. What I love about this natural fragrance is that is uses benzoin resin as a cost effective replacement for pure vanilla absolute. Vanilla is one of my absolute favorite scents. This organic perfume recipe, originally called Spring Frolic Perfume Oil, is courtesy of Mountain Rose Herbs.
What you will need…
4 drops of organic benzoin resin
4 drops of organic sweet orange essential oil
3 drops of organic carrot seed oil
1 oz of organic carrier oil of your choice
Add the essential oils and resin to your 1 oz bottle first, then roll the bottle between the palms of your hands to gently mix the oils. Now add your carrier which could be jojoba, sunflower, grapeseed, or any carrier oil which naturally has a light scent. Definitely leave a bit of space at the top of your bottle so it will not overflow. Place your cap on top, invert overnight to allow these luscious scents to marry. Your beautiful fragrance will be ready in the morning.
Carrot seed essential oil gives this fragrance a sweet earthy scent. It is also one of my anti-aging skin care must haves because it is so incredible for skin rejuvenation as well as fading scars. It can be a bit pricey, yet you can also add this essential oil in your cleansing and moisturizing oil which is how I incorporate this essential oil into my beauty regimen. I use 10 drops of essential oil to every 1 ounce of carrier oil. Read more about why I love carrot seed essential oil here and check out this anti-aging skin serum recipe too!
