I love fashion and beauty, yet am also a minimalist. I'm a professional dancer and model and have been a part of the entertainment industry for years. I've also worked in one of the largest beauty retailers as a consultant. Minimalist Beauty is a lifestyle of simplicity, freedom from clutter and the unnecessary, using organic and natural beauty products free of any chemical or toxic preservatives, and spending more time doing what you absolutely love most. Minimalist Beauty is my journey of thoughts, inspirations, and lessons creating a life of simplicity and therefore more artistic expression. I hope you enjoy!

Henna, Curly Girl Method,Tightly Curly Method…
Throughout this blog I talk about my love for henna. Using body art quality henna for hair conditioning treatments has not only strengthened my hair strands, but eliminated frizz for my curly hair which is a major accomplishment. Henna helped my hair develop a uniform curl pattern in the areas that were only frizzy in [...]

The Azuha Chain ABUNDANCE
I recently designed a shorter version of The Azuha Chain INFINITY–crocheted fiber necklace called The Azuha Chain ABUNDANCE. It has so much style and is extremely fun to wear with any outfit. Each crocheted fiber necklace is offered in nine different colors. I have more styles coming soon! See more from my Etsy store Azuha [...]
“Pina”–Dance, Dance Otherwise We Are Lost
Yesterday I saw the film “Pina” a tribute to German modern dance choreographer Pina Bausch. I feel heightened with new senses, inspired to express my art with unabashed honesty, and more dedicated to do whatever needs to be done to achieve my dreams. It is so amazing that seeing another in their divine expression can [...]

Terressentials Pure Earth Hair Wash
Last December I decided to finally try the Terressentials Pure Earth Hair Wash, especially after hearing so much about it from Minimalist Beauty readers, on the Hairlista forum, and on YouTube. So I went to the website and found that there was a local retailer that sold Terressentials products. I purchased both the Organic Left [...]
Insatiably Satiable
Every day I get closer to not even being inclined to buy just to buy, just as I’m no longer craving sugar and desserts now that I have cut them out of my diet. When I began my minimalist journey two years ago, I remember thinking that a minimalist lifestyle was for those who wanted [...]

Curly Confession–The Curly Girl Method
Yesterday I picked up the expanded 2nd edition of Curly Girl–The Handbook by Lorraine Massey. I read the entire book in one sitting and truly enjoyed it from cover to cover. What was a complete and shocking surprise was that almost every curly girl in the book no matter what race or ethnicity pretty much [...]
Azuha Is Open!
Yesterday was the grand opening of my new Etsy store Azuha. Mid December I closed down my former Etsy store Artistic Beauty to remodel and reinvent my handmade shop for the new year. Currently the store features The Azuha Chain Infinity, a crochet fiber necklace designed to add extreme style to the minimalist wardrobe. I [...]

Beauty For The New Healthy You
When I was working in cosmetic retail, it was required to wear a full face of makeup, always have our nails manicured, and have our hair nicely styled at all times. It was part of our job requirement, and I did what I needed to do to sell beauty products. Now having the knowledge that [...]

Catnip–A Beauty and Health Herb
Last month I did a trial using catnip tea for a hair rinse and also as a facial toner. If you are at all familiar with catnip also known as catmint, it is a herb from the mint family that most cats go crazy over. I learned about catnip from Ktani on the Long Hair [...]
