I definitely went jumpsuit crazy in My Spring/Summer 2015 Capsule Wardrobe. They are just so simple to style! It’s the ease of wearing a lovely dress in the form of pants or shorts. I went chambray crazy with this season’s capsule wardrobe as well. It’s the dressier version of denim I guess. I still LOVE my jeans though!
(Thrifted Velvet Heart light blue chambray jumpsuit, Vintage Nine West strappy sandals, Folli Follie Donattella Watch, Madewell gold earrings)
This jumpsuit is another favorite piece this season. I’ve even pared it with my navy blazer from My Fall/Winter 2014 Capsule Wardrobe on super chilly days.
I have to say that I haven’t really stuck to only wearing the pieces from this season’s capsule wardrobe. I could blame it on the weather, or possibly poor planning. Regardless the weather has been blazing hot one day, then super cold another. So instead of stressing myself out, I’ve been pulling a few pieces from my previous capsule wardrobes to make it easier. For example I’ve been wearing my blue jeans from F/W since my J Brand ivory skinny jeans need frequent washing. Neither wardrobe is that grand anyway.
Now after creating five capsule wardrobes so far, I feel as if the main purpose of the capsule wardrobe is to minimize excessive unplanned shopping, and instead really focus on creating a truly cohesive wardrobe while owning your personal style.
Each season that I have challenged myself to design a cohesive capsule wardrobe, I learn something new about what I really love. As a blogger there is definitely a pressure trying to present perfection. It can also be challenging following my own style versus emulating styles I see. In truth the more I stay true to myself the better I feel.
