It’s amazing to me how certain things can bring a little extra joy to life. I know that materialism doesn’t bring happiness because true happiness is an inside job. But I still have some go-to favorites this fall that I love. Also you will never see a haul of any kind from me unless it’s organic food! Let’s get to the goodies…
Mountain Rose Herbs Organic Evening Primrose Oil
I have shared the power of high linoleic oils for acne prone skin for a few years now. I have been asked numerous times if I have tried evening primrose oil because it has some of the highest percentages of linoleic acid. Well I have been finally testing this oil and I am really enjoying it so far. I will be sharing an updated skin care regimen soon so keep your eyes open for that.
100% Pure Long Last Brows in Soft Brown
I have been looking for a chemical-free eyebrow gel for awhile, and I was excited to discover 100% Pure had started making one. I have thin brows to begin with so I pretty much leave them alone aside from plucking a random stray here and there. Filling in sparse areas and defining the shape of my natural brows has been amazing with this brow gel.
I was worried that “soft brown” would be too light for me, but I feel it gives me a very natural look without looking overdone. I haven’t tried the “medium brown” shade yet and I sometimes wonder if I would love it even more. Time will tell. I’d also like to mention that this brow gel came with the eyebrow brush shown above. 100% Pure makeup has some of the best natural ingredients on the market plus they are vegan and cruelty-free.

Soul Flower Rooted Harem Pants
Soul Flower is a vibrant organic and fair trade clothing company I’ve been supporting for a few years. I’ve been eyeing these pants on Soul Flower for months now. I think I gave myself every excuse in the book not to buy them.
Finally I gave in and couldn’t be happier. These pants literally make you want to dance and are so comfortable. These are the perfect lounge pants. I’ll probably be shamelessly wearing them the entire weekend. They are also fair trade.
Vitamin C has been known to brighten the skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, plus increase collagen production. Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum also contains vitamin E, hyaluronic acid, and konjac root powder which all help to fade skin discoloration, soften the skin, and give you that extra glow. I don’t rave about products often since I make most of my own, yet this serum is an exception. I have yet to find a serum that impressed me by brightening and hydrating my skin as much as this one has.
Ingredients… Water Deionized, Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate), Alkyl Benzoate, Vegetable Glycerin, Water, Glycerin, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate, Clary Sage (Salvia Sclarea), Grapefruit (Citrus Grandis), Hyaluronic acid, Amorphophallus Konjac Root Powder, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf, Vitamin E (Tocotrienol), Ferulic acid, Chamomile Flower Extract (Recutita Matricaria), Sodium Phytate, Xanthum Gum, Hydroxyethylcellulose
What are some of your favorite items this fall? I look forward to hearing all about it. Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!
One Love!

Hey Dawn! I know you have used pumpkin seed oil in the past, how would you say the evening primrose oil compares? Do you have a preference over either one?
Dawn Michelle says
Hi Emily,
For starters pumpkin seed oil has a nutty smell and is darker in color. Evening primrose oil does not smell nutty, is a very light color, yet also needs to be refrigerated which pumpkin seed oil does not. Right now I am really loving evening primrose oil especially with helichrysum essential oil.
I can not say that one oil has definitely been better for my skin than the other because I attribute clear skin more to my diet than skin care products alone. Skin care products help a lot, yet if your digestive system is a mess, and you are not eating a nutritious diet, then you skin care and diet are working against each other. My skin care aids in keeping my skin clear and hydrated, but is not the main determining factor in my opinion.
